      An Army second lieutenant from Collingswood, N.J., who had been in Vietnam for five weeks, has been killed [Sep 6] in action, the Defense Department reported Friday [Sep 12]. Lt. Stephen W. Young, 23, son of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Young, of 325 W. Franklin ave., was killed while on duty in the Mekong Delta. He graduated from Collingswood High School in 1963 and Bowling Green State University of Ohio in 1967. Lt. Young enlisted in Ohio in 1967 and went into the service in January 1968. He was graduated from officers candidate school in November 1968 and was sent to Vietnam Aug. 1, where he was assigned to a mobile advisory team. His father said he sent the family a letter saying he had been told to learn the Vietnamese language and religious customs in two weeks. Surviving with his parents is a sister, Mrs. Carolyn J. Scott.
