Mrs. Claus was born in Fremont on March 6, 1944 and graduated from Fremont Ross High School in 1962. She was a member of the Victory Christian Fellowship, Fremont and the Clyde Eagles Auxiliary. She had been physical therapy assistant at the St. Francis Health Care Centre. Jean married William Claus, Jr. on September 26, 1970 and he survives, as does their daughter, Susan (Zachary) Gunther, Green Springs; and their son, Donald (Jessica) Claus, Green Springs; six grandchildren; and one brother, Jim Culbert also survive. She was preceded in death by a sister, Carol Below. Visitation will be on Tuesday, June 30, 2009 from 10:00 a.m. until Noon at the Mitchell-Auxter Funeral Home, 218 S. Main St., Clyde. The funeral will be at Noon on Tuesday, at the funeral home, with Pastor Duane Dunfee officiating. Burial will be in Bakertown Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Victory Christian Fellowship or to the Clyde Public Library.
