      Memorial service for Hazel Culbert, 71, of Fort Worth was to be Saturday, July 20, in Mountain Valley Chapel in Burleson with Dr. Willie Weaver officiating. Burial was to be in Shannon Rose Hill Memorial Park in Fort Worth. Culbert was the mother of Bernice Gasperson of Decatur. Culbert died Wednesday, July 17, 2002, in Fort Worth. Born May 6, 1931, in Ridgeway, Iowa, she was a resident of Alvarado for 20 years and retired in 1987 as the owner of Hazel's Rawhide Western Store in Burleson. She was a member of Worth Baptist Church and enjoyed fishing, travel and bird watching. She was preceded in death by a son, Jerry Culbert in 1990. She is survived by two daughters, Judy Greenway and her husband Ramsey of Godley and Bernice Gasperson and her husband Sonnie of Decatur; brother, James Armstrong of Peoria, Ill.; sisters, Doris Wenger of Mapleton, Ill., Edith Rusk of Peoria and Betty Scheler of Arlington; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

      "Hazel Culbert, 71, of Alvarado, a loving mother and grandmother, died Wednesday, July 17, 2002, at a Fort Worth hospital. Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, July 20, in Mountain Valley Chapel. Dr. Willie Weaver officiated. Burial was at Shannon Rose Hill Memorial Park in Fort Worth. Hazel Culbert was born May 6, 1931, in Ridgeway, Iowa. She had been a resident of Alvarado for 20 years, and retired in 1987 as owner of Hazel's Rawhide Western Store in Burleson. She was a member of Worth Baptist Church. She loved her church, gospel music and people. She enjoyed fishing, travel and birdwatching. Mrs. Culbert was preceded in death by a son, Jerry Culbert, in 1990. She is survived by her daughters, Judy Greenway and husband, Ramsey, of Godley, Bernice Gasperson and husband, Sonnie, of Decatur; brother, James Armstrong of Peoria, Illinois; sisters, Doris Wenger of Mapleton, Illinois, Edith Rusk of Peoria, Illinois, Betty Scheler of Arlington; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren. Mountain Valley Funeral Home of Burleson handled the arrangements."
