Letter to James Park from Andrew Park dated 11 May 1841.
"Esther Jane Culbert has shewn herself to be a very worthy girl and a very dutifull daughter and sister. From her own earnings after sending money formerly to her mother she has now paid the passage to Philadelphia for all the family now in Ireland. They however have consulted that only Joseph and Nancy and Elizabeth will go out at this time leaving Andrew and Catherine and their Mother who is but frail to another opportunity. They are all busily employed this day preparing for embarkation..... There is no satisfactory intelligence from either Matthew or James Culbert for the last two years."
Letter to James Park from Andrew Park dated 27 May 1842.
"Sister Elizabeth and her son Andrew and daughter Catherine are well and send their love to you and htank you for the care and trouble you took in enquiring after her sons, Matthew and James. You have no doubt ere now heard that Joseph fell overboard on the voyage to America and met a watery grave. The property direction of letters to her daughters in Philadelphia is to the care of John Greer grocer Market street no 497 north side."
