"William Harrigan, who appeared in more than 40 stage plays in a career that spanned six decades, died here yesterday after having undergone surgery at St. Lukes Hospital. He was 71 years old....[long article not transcribed]...Married Three Times. Mr. Harrigan's marriages to Dorothy Langdon and Louise Groody, the musical comedy actress, ended in divorce. His third wife, the former Grace Culbert, survives him. In addition to his wife and sister, he leaves two brothers, Phillip Harrigan, president of Sunrise Coal Company, and Nolan Harrigan, retired senior vice president of the Irving Trust Company and chairman of the board of Republic Industrial Corporation...." "William Harigan[sic], actor, and Grace Culbert, actress and the daughter of Dr. Robert R. Culbert, a Boston physician, were married in Greenwich, Conn., yesterday afternoon, at St. Mary's Church, by the Rev. Martin Fahey, Chaplain of the Catholic Actors Guild. The age of the bridegroom was given as 33 and tha of the bride as 23. Nolan Harrigan was best man for his brother, and the bride was accompanied by Miss Joan Warner. Representatives of the families of the couple were present. Mr. Harrigan is a member of the cast of 'The Dove,' playing at the Empire Theatre. He said he had known the bride for nearly three years and that they had been engaged for more than a year. Mr. Harrigan, who is a son of the late Ned Harrigan of the team of Harrigan and Hart, was formerly married to Louise Groody, actress, They were divorced four years ago."
