      Virginia Beach - Bernice Culbert Williams Jr. Bernie Passed away early Saturday [17 Mar] morning at Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Virginia Beach where he had been residing due to the onset of Alzheimer's disease. He was born in Portsmouth Virginia, the son of the late Bernice C. Williams Sr. and Virginia R. Willams. Graduated from St. Josephs H.S. Portsmouth. After which he served in the U.S. Air Corp. Stationed at Scott Field in Belleville Ill. where he met Carolyn Klincar, his wife of 63 years. He retired from Reuben H. Donnelley Corp., The Yellow Pages. Living in Portsmouth and Virginia Beach, during most of his distinguished sales and management career with Donnelley which concluded after corporate relocations to Rockville, Md. and Malvern, Pa. Upon retiring he became a permanent resident of Sandbridge and was very active in the community working with the Sandbridge Fire and Rescue Squads and as President of the Sandbridge Civic League. When younger Bernie was an active member of the Portsmouth Jaycees. He and Carolyn were founding members of St. John the Apostle Catholic Church and long time members of Star of the Sea Catholic Church. He held the 4th degree in the Knights of Columbus. Bernie was an avid golfer loved being on the links and made many friends along the way. He was a loving husband and father who will be missed. He is survived by His wife Carolyn Klincar Williams of Virginia Beach, Va. Sons Gregory A. Williams of Alexandria VA and C Bradley Williams of Frederick MD. His brother Michael L. Williams Of Frederick Md. And his sister Arrie Anne Williams Bowman Of Portsmouth Va. His middle son Steven W. Williams of Virginia Beach Va. preceded him in death. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, March 24, at 10 a.m. at St. John the Apostle Church at 1968 Sandbridge Rd. with interment to follow. In Lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association. H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts. Laskin Road Chapel is handling arrangements. <http://www.hdoliver.com/>"
