William McGettigan Family
l. to r. Mary Coll Culbert (wife of Mathew the Convert); Mathew Culbert, the Convert; William McGettigan (father of Edward/Eamonn McGettigan); Edward (or Eamonn) McGettigan (husband to Mary Culbert, daughter of Mathew the Convert); and Margery McGarvey McGettigan (mother of Edward/Eamonn McGettigan). This photograph is owned by Kathleen (Catherine Ann) McGettigan, daughter of Edward McGettigan and Mary Culbert McGettigan. Note that McGettigan is both Kathleen's maiden and married surname. This was provided to me by Kathleen's son-in-law, Kevin O'Sullivan, who is married to Kathleen's daughter, Caroline McGettigan O'Sullivan. According to Kevin, the Culberts are on Eamonn's right! I asked Kevin why Mary Culbert McGettigan was not in the picture and he surmised that perhaps Mary was the one taking the picture! Besides being the husband of Mary Culbert, Edward McGettigan was also the best friend of Mathew Culbert Jr. I have read in some newspaper archives that after all of Mathew Culbert's sons emigrated to the US (except James), Eamonn became something of another son to Mathew the Convert.
