  • 1784—30 Jun 1867: New Brunswick

  • 10 Feb 1841: Upper and Lower Canada Renamed
    The Colonies of Upper and Lower Canada were merged into the province of Canada by the Act of Union of 1840, and Upper Canada (Ontario) became Canada West, while Lower Canada (Quebec) became Canada East.
  • 1 Jul 1841: Colony of New Zealand
    New Zealand became a separate Colony of Great Britain. In 1856 the colony became self-governing. At the request of the New Zealand Parliament, in 1907 it was proclaimed a dominion within the British Empire. [ref. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_Zealand]

  • 30 Mar 1867—18 Oct 1867: Alaska Purchase
    William H. Seward, the United States Secretary of State, negotiated the Alaska Purchase with the Emperor of the Russian Empire, King of Poland and Grand Duke of Finland, on March 30, 1867, for $7.2 million. Six months later the commissioners arrived in Sitka and the formal transfer was arranged at Fort Sitka on October 18, 1867.
